Emyezweni Preschool NPC is governed by a Board of Directors in accordance with the Companies Act No.71 of 2008 of South Africa as a Non-Profit Company without Members.
The Board of Directors exists to make sure that the school fulfills its mission. It is also responsible for making sure the school meets its regulatory responsibilities and files appropriate paperwork with government agencies.
It is responsible for ensuring that the school meets its goals and keeps promises to the public, donors, and beneficiaries. It ensures that the school has the necessary resources in order to run efficiently.
The school principal is CEO of the NPC and is the only paid Director.
The financial year runs from March to February.
An Annual General Meeting is held every year within 9 months of previous financial year-end.
Directors meet quarterly.
Since 2009 Emyezweni Preschool has been operating under the auspices of Heldercare NPC 2009/004298/08. In 2020 it was agreed that from 2021 the school would register as an independent entity, Emyezweni Preschool NPC.
